DeathbyRomy is an American singer-songwriter known for her dark, genre-blending music that fuses elements of alternative pop, goth, electronic, and hip-hop. she emerged in the late 2010s with emotionally charged lyrics exploring themes like mental health, love, death, and self-empowerment. Her haunting voice and theatrical aesthetic have earned her a cult following. Songs like “Problems” and “Day I Die” showcase her raw vulnerability and bold style, positioning her as a unique voice in the alternative music scene.
DeathbyRomy had a sold out show with opener Heffy in chicago IL, at the beat kitchen. I myself have only just learned about her a month back so i actually had to get a ticket to see the show from a reseller. I’m not mad at it though because the show was fantastic. Romy and her band know how to control the stage and crowd. The band consist of Romy Flores, Jayden Hammer (guitar), Cheska Zaide (bass) & Batz (drums).
The show starts with a projection of the American flag with a single pentagram replacing the stars in black & white while her rendition of California dreaming plays in the back setting the mood. As the band walks out screams & cheers fill the small dark venue, you can tell they have the confidence to rock this show. They should considering not only was Chicago sold out a majority of their tour was sold out. After her first track Romy explained how this is her first headliner in chicago and it was sold out!
DeathbyRomy is going to be HUGE i can tell. They way they control the stage and the crowd is engaging and fun from jumping, kicking having the crowd play along to xxxhibitionist, all the band Rapping together on KOBK (kill or be killed) and the spittle seductive bits in between. Familiar or unfamiliar with the group they are definitely worth the listen or attending the concert if you can considering they’re sold out on tour in us & europe. They are also attending Many rock festivals this year including in the Bahamas
